Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about our Studio.
What file formats are supported?
You upload 3D models as
.GLB (Binary glTF), up to 50MB per file and up to 5 files at once. GLB combines geometry, textures and animations in one file; FBX, OBJ and STL are not supported, so convert them to GLB first. Downloads come as GLB or USDZ from the Download popup. For the AI 3D Generator, reference images can be PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF or HEIC up to 20MB each, and texture uploads in the Material tab accept PNG, JPG or WebP up to 15MB.How do I embed the 3D viewer on my website?
Every model has its own 3D-AR page. Open Share & Embed for it, from its row in the Studio Library, from More Details > Share Page or from Page Designer > Share Page, copy the Embed Code, a ready-to-use iframe, and paste it into your website's HTML. There is no build step and no dependency, the viewer is fully responsive, and it works on Shopify, WordPress, Webflow and any custom site. AR inside the embed needs HTTPS and the
allow permissions that are already in the code. How does AR work on mobile devices?
AR runs straight from the mobile browser with no app download. On iPhone and iPad, models open in Apple AR Quick Look with a USDZ that BASE builds automatically from your GLB, or your own .usdz uploaded in Page Designer. On Android, BASE uses WebXR in-browser AR in Chrome (ARCore-backed, with your latest materials); a browser without WebXR, such as an in-app browser, shows a message to open the page in Chrome. On desktop, the AR button shows a QR code that opens AR on the visitor's phone.
How do plans and limits work?
Plans are priced per model. Free is $0 with no card needed: up to 3 live models and 3 new models a month, with a small BASE watermark on the 3D viewer. Pro is $0.50 per model a month at our launch price, minimum $20 for 40 models: the capacity you choose, up to 2,000, sets both your live models and your new models each month, with no watermark. Enterprise is custom, for large catalogs, custom 3D projects and dedicated support. An AI generation and a .GLB upload each count as one new model, and the BASE sample models never count. Deleting a model frees a live spot, but not this month's count, which resets on your billing date. Open Pricing to choose a capacity, or read Plans in the Docs.
What happens if I lower my plan or a payment fails?
Raising your capacity applies right away and charges the prorated difference now. Lowering it, or switching to Free, applies at your next billing period, and a Change scheduled notice tells you how many models you will need to archive or delete. On that date, if you have more live models than the plan includes, the Downgrade complete screen asks you to archive or delete the extra. If nothing is chosen within 15 days, your most recently added models stay live and the rest are archived automatically; nothing is ever deleted for you. If a payment fails, new models pause until you update your payment method (Polar retries the card), while your live models keep working. If the plan ends, the same 15-day choice applies. Archived models are kept indefinitely and can be restored whenever you have room.
How do I customize the AR button and QR popup?
Open Page Designer in Studio. The AR Button tab sets the label, position, font, colors, radius and opacity, separately for desktop and mobile or the same on both, and its QR popup row edits the title, text and four colors of the popup desktop visitors see. The Toolbars - Logo tab adds your logo and the viewer buttons, and eight built-in Page Themes style everything in one click. Changes go live when you click Save.
Can I download all my models at once?
Yes. In the Studio Library, tap Select Models, tick the models you want and press Download: up to 100 models arrive as one ZIP of GLB files, with your material edits applied. For your whole library, use Export All in Account. A single model downloads as GLB or USDZ from its Download popup. Downloads are free, unlimited and never count as a new model.
Can I optimize or preview a GLB without an account?
Yes, with two free tools that never upload your file. Model Optimizer shows a .GLB of up to 150MB (50MB on phones and tablets) at four detail levels with real triangle counts, lets you choose WebP, PNG or the original textures at 1K or 2K and Draco compression, then downloads the lighter file. Quick View opens a .GLB of up to 50MB instantly in the same viewer the Studio uses. To optimize the file a live page serves, use More Details > Optimize in Studio.
Can I use a custom domain for my 3D pages?
Custom domain support is coming soon. This feature will allow you to serve your 3D-AR pages under your own brand domain. Stay tuned for updates.
Which AI engine should I use?
Six engines are available, and you can pick a different one for every generation in the 3D Generator. Meshy, the default, gives the most polished PBR textures and the widest option set, and Version 7.1 keeps Image to 3D results closest to your reference. Tripo is the fast, reliable choice for quick iteration. Rodin delivers sharp edges and clean meshes, accepts up to 5 reference images and offers Quad retopology; its textures are 2K. Hunyuan by Tencent suits simple shapes and text prompts, with a Pro and a Rapid pipeline. TRELLIS and Pixal3D work from a single image: TRELLIS is usually the quickest, Pixal3D gives solid all-round detail. Meshy, Tripo, Rodin and Hunyuan support both Text to 3D and Image to 3D. Every option is listed in the Docs.
Is there a developer API?
Yes. The public REST API v2 is live at
https://studio.basebros.com/api/v2. From your own backend you can start 3D generation jobs, poll their status, download the resulting assets and publish or unpublish pages, and signed webhooks notify you when a job finishes. The API is server-to-server only and uses the same plan capacity and counters as your Studio account. Access is enabled per organization, so contact us to get your keys. The full reference is in the Docs under Embed & API.What can the AI assistant help with?
BASE AI answers questions about Studio features, plans, limits and our solutions, in your language. On this site it is the AI Assistant chat button. Inside Studio it sits in the sidebar or pops out into its own window, knows your plan and your Live models and This month counters, and can look at up to 4 screenshots per message, each under 5MB, so showing it the screen you are stuck on is the fastest way to get help. It covers BASE topics only.
